Accessible Home Designer (AHD) aims to provide an effective, efficient, and interactive solution for Occupational Therapists, so that they could tailor to each client’s unique need of barrier-free access. AHD is also an innovate tool for OT students to gain hands-on experience in designing home modification. Students could visualize the personalised designs through the platform (VR design). In responding to the expanding population of senior citizen in Hongkong and the huge demands of gerontechnology, by using AHD, OT can forecast the challenges faced by elderly and people with disabilities, to develop practical solutions to improve clients’ quality of life in terms of accessible living environment.
