With the generous support of ‘Chef Executive’s Community Project List (The Hong Kong Jockey Club)’, the portal has carried out a major revamp in 2019. The new ‘eElderly’ becomes an integrated information and service platform, with elderly-friendly interface on different electronic devices including personal computers, tablets and smartphones. Instead of providing one-way information flow, an interactive virtual online centre, eCentre, is created. This eCentre features the ‘O2O’ (online to offline) concept. The elderly users can find information on various activities and events on the eCentre and then join their favourite ones in their real lives. The interactive nature of the eCentre also fosters communication, and facilitates the senior citizens to expand their social circles.
As for the contents of the site, they are categorized into 12 domains, which most elderly people and caregivers are interested in. These include discount offers, health issues, overview of elderly services, dementia services and employment opportunities. In particular, the overview of elderly services provide comprehensive information on different kinds of elderly services and related information, such as users’ ratings and comments, service comparison, accreditations, commendations and warning records. All in all, the re ‘eElderly’ elevates user experience, and helps the elderly users to choose the right services and to enjoy an overall better quality of life.
