For individuals with dysphagia, traditional pureed meals may stem from the good intentions of caregivers. However, these meals often come at the cost of taste and presentation. Over time, eating becomes monotonous and dull, reduced to a daily routine of compromise rather than enjoyment. It is only when we shift our perspective to that of the "care recipients" that we realize: being able to eat is merely the basics; enjoying delicious, flavorful meals is the true essence of caregiving. Therefore, Happy Kitchen Café & Bar, under the brand of German Pool, has partnered exclusively with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) to join the "Care Food Seed Restaurant" initiative. Following HKCSS's Care Food Standards Guidelines, we have developed a total of 11 care food dishes that comply with the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI). This allows individuals in need to savor delicious meals together with their families, no longer feeling isolated at the dining table. Sharing the same table and the same food, the whole family can eat happily and with peace of mind! All care food items have been officially available since August 18th, and we warmly welcome everyone to visit and taste them!
