Three mobile applications developed by Swallowing Research Laboratory of The University of Hong Kong:
1. Birdie’s adventure is an innovative app that combines game elements and the pitch glide exercise, Birdie’s adventure is an innovative app that combines game elements and the pitch glide exercise, aiming to improve swallowing function. The interactive gameplay offers players a gamified experience that makes exercising fun and engaging. Players also receive feedback on their performance to make improvements and reach the goals.
2. Swallowing Gym is a training app targeting oral motor muscles using entertainment and gaming elements.
3. KOTE is for people with swallowing and communication disorders, including those recovering from stroke, head and neck cancer, dementia, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis. The app also provides videos of different swallowing mouth muscle, articulation and communication exercises to improve the quality of life of the recovering patients and communicate more effectively.
