The Jockey Club “ageathome” Gerontech Education and Rental Service is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). Since its launch in 2019 as a four-and-a-half-year pilot program, it has achieved significant progress in service and funding models through cross-sector and cross-agency collaboration, promoting aging in place.
Phase two of the program began in September 2024 and will run for three years. It aims to further expand service coverage, enhance public awareness and application of gerontechnology, and improve accessibility. Through innovative and flexible models, elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, those in need of rehabilitation, caregivers, medical institutions, residential care homes, and service organizations can flexibly choose to rent or purchase suitable equipment to support daily living and community care, making good use of gerontechnology to improve quality of life.
The Jockey Club “ageathome” Gerontech Education and Rental Service Centre in Sha Tin, along with the Gerontech Cleaning and Maintenance Service Centre in Fo Tan, provide convenient access for the public to experience gerontechnology and use related services.
